Hamiota Collegiate has a proud basketball tradition.  Girls’ basketball is played at middle years, junior varsity and senior varsity levels.  Participants are involved in zone 10 play as well as a host of tournaments from December through March.

This Year the Middle years boys have 14 players, which creates two teams.  The boys 1st opponents of the year was the Shoal Lake Sharks.  It was a tough fought battle and the boys came our with a win and a loss.

January 26th we traveled to Russell.  The kids lost both games but enjoyed A&W after.  The boys have the opportunity to go see the BU Bobcats on February 4th.  Our next home game is Feb 16th when the Birtle Falcons invade our gym. 

The boys home tournament is February 25th.  We also have the honor of having the M.Y. Boys final here on Feb 28th.  Come out and cheer on the boys.

The middle years girls basketball teams start practicing early in December. The league takes place during the months of January and February with the championships held the first week of March.

The playoffs usually starts at 1 p.m. and will occur the 1^st Tuesday of March 2005. Athletes can compete in either the “A” Championships or “B’ Championships.
